ONE COMPANY'S STORY

Sony Disc Manufacturing, an American subsidiary of the Japanese electronics company, operates a state of the art production plant on a 120-acre site in Springfield. The company employs 400 highly skilled employees to produce audio compact discs, CD-ROMs and PlayStation CD-ROMs and provide digital authoring services to clients. Sony has been in Springfield since 1995 and provides major financial support and technical advice to the University of Oregon.
