U.S. subsidiaries support 14,700 manufacturing jobs in Oklahoma. Manufacturing companies tend to have a strong "multiplier" effect on the economy-stimulating a substantial amount of activity and jobs in other sectors through their demand for inputs from other suppliers.

Overall, approximately 40.3% of jobs at U.S. subsidiaries in Oklahoma are in manufacturing industries.


ONE COMPANY'S STORY

Farmers Insurance Group, a U.S. subsidiary of Swiss-based Zurich Financial Services, recently announced an expansion in its Oklahoma City Claims Center that will create 450 new jobs. This will bring the total number of employees at this location to approximately 1,600 workers. The claims center recently underwent a renovation to handle the job growth. Farmers Insurance is a property and casualty insurer.
