U.S. subsidiaries support 16,300 manufacturing jobs in New Hampshire, an increase in 17% over five years. Manufacturing companies tend to have a strong "multiplier" effect on the economy-stimulating a substantial amount of activity and jobs in other sectors through their demand for inputs from other suppliers.

Overall, approximately 42.4% of jobs at U.S. subsidiaries in New Hampshire are in manufacturing industries.


ONE COMPANY'S STORY

Pike Industries, a U.S. subsidiary of the Irish building materials firm CRH plc, employs around 1,000 people in 25 locations around New Hampshire. Pike's operations in the state include asphalt and aggregate production, paving, grinding and heavy highway production. Pike industries has been operating in the state since the 1880s.
