MANUFACTURING JOB FACTS

U.S. subsidiaries support 48,000 manufacturing jobs in Missouri. Manufacturing companies tend to have a strong "multiplier" effect on the economy-stimulating a substantial amount of activity and jobs in other sectors through their demand for inputs from other suppliers.

Overall, approximately 49.6% of jobs at U.S. subsidiaries in Missouri are in manufacturing industries.


ONE COMPANY'S STORY

Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, a U.S. subsidiary of a German company, recently expanded its St. Joseph headqurters. The company employs 600 workers in its Missouri operations. The St. Joseph campus recently added a state-of-the-art biological manufacturing facility, a research and development complex and new centralized warehousing facilities.
