MANUFACTURING JOB FACTS

jobs in Louisiana. Manufacturing companies tend to have
a strong "multiplier" effect on the economy-stimulating
a substantial amount of activity and jobs in other sectors
through their demand for inputs from other suppliers.
Overall, approximately 35.6% of jobs at U.S. subsidiaries in Louisiana are in manufacturing industries.

ONE COMPANY'S STORY
EADS Aeroframe Services, a U.S. subsidiary
of European aerospace giant EADS, plans to add a total of
300 jobs to its Lake Charles facility through expansionary
efforts. The operation has undergone remarkable growth in
recent years as employment increased from just 75 to approximately
525 workers between 2001 and 2002. The new jobs have been
created by the impending construction of a new hangar. The
company predicts that it will employ 700 people by the end
of 2003 and will continue to grow steadily from there.
