MANUFACTURING JOB FACTS

U.S. subsidiaries support 18,700 manufacturing jobs in Colorado, a 12% increase over five years. Manufacturing companies tend to have a strong "multiplier" effect on the economy-stimulating a substantial amount of activity and jobs in other sectors through their demand for inputs from other suppliers.

Overall, approximately 24.4% of jobs at U.S. subsidiaries in Colorado are in manufacturing industries.


ONE COMPANY'S STORY

Datex-Ohmeda, the U.S. subsidiary of the Finland-based medical device manufacturer, employs over 350 local residents at its Louisville production facility. The operation uses state-of-the art equipment to produce pulse oximeters and various other patient monitors. The plant produces low-cost, single patient use OxyTip sensors of which over 1 million are sold each year.
