ONE COMPANY'S STORY

Nissan Motor Company, the U.S. subsidiary of the Japanese carmaker, recently announced that they would begin production of the popular Maxima sedan at its assembly plant in Smyrna. This move will add 2,000 jobs in Tennessee, 1,000 each in the parts plant in Decherd, and the production plant in Smyrna. These new jobs will bring the total number of Nissan employees in the state to 8,000. This production extension comes after the company's recent announcement of a $1 billion expansion of its engine and transaxle factory in Smyrna.
