Bridgestone Americas, Inc.

Akron 
Bridgestone Americas, Inc., is the U.S. operations of Japan-based Bridgestone Corporation, the world's largest tire and rubber company. In March 2010 celebrating over 100 years in Akron, Ohio, Bridgestone Americas broke ground on a $100 million state-of-the-art Technical Center. Bridgestone’s investment will immediately bring in much needed construction jobs into the community as well as allow Bridgestone to raise their employment total to over 1,000 workers once the Technical Center is complete.
 

BASF Corporation

Elyria 
BASF Corporation, the U.S. operations of Germany-based BASF, is the world’s leading chemical company. In October 2010, the company broke ground on a $50+ million facility in Elyria, Ohio, to produce advanced cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries that will power hybrid and full-electric vehicles of the near future. When it is fully operational in 2012, the BASF plant is expected to be the most advanced cathode materials production plant in North America. BASF has been manufacturing in America for more than 50 years and employs 15,000 Americas.
