ThyssenKrupp

Calvert 
ThyssenKrupp Steel USA, LLC and ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA, LLC are the U.S. operations of Germany-based ThyssenKrupp. In December 2010, following a three-year construction period, the company’s new steelmaking and processing plant was officially opened in Calvert, Alabama. The plant’s construction in Alabama is the first of its kind in decades and one of the biggest ever foreign investments in the U.S. It’s the largest economic project in the history of Alabama and will eventually create 2,700 permanent jobs.
 

Hyundai Motor America

Montgomery  
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) is the U.S. operations of South Korea-based Hyundai Motor Company and is Hyundai’s first assembly and manufacturing plant in the United States. This $1.4 billion automotive plant in Montgomery, Alabama employs over 2,400 Americans and is one of the most advanced assembly plants in North America. In November 2009, HMMA Team Members built Hyundai’s one-millionth U.S.-made vehicle, a Sonata sedan. Hyundai’s growing presence in the United States includes over 4,800 employees.
