General Protecht U.S. Inc., a U.S subsidiary of a Chinese company that was created by a joint venture between China-based General Protecht Group and Atlanta-based Heritage Capital Advisors LLC, purchased more than 200 acres in Barnesville. The company plans to build an assembly and distribution facility for electrical products, wired devices and other related products. Over the course of two years, this new facility is expected to bring 240 jobs and $30 million of investment. Trade to and from China has made Georgia the sixth-largest port in the U.S. for imports and exports with China and the second largest port on the East Coast.
